Michael Schlofman O.D.
Dr. Michael Schlofman grew up in Starke, FL and is a 2000 graduate of Bradford County High School. He went to the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University before completing his bachelor’s degree in Vision Science in 2004. He continued his education at Nova Southeastern College of Optometry and graduated in 2008 with honors.
Dr. Schlofman specializes in areas of ocular disease and contact lenses, with an emphasis on dry eye and glaucoma. Dr. Schlofman is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association and Northeast Florida Optometric Society. He is also a member and past president (2019) of the Starke Rotary Club.
Dr. Schlofman was married in May 2012 to Laura Schlofman, who is a teacher. They have 2 daughters, Kate (2015), Emily (2015) and one son, Colin (2013). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, watching gators and jags football, golf and other outdoor activities.
Jenifer Presnick O.D.
Dr. Jenifer Presnick grew up in Inverness, Florida and graduated from Citrus High School in 2015 with her Associate of Arts (AA) degree by dual enrollment at the College of Central Florida. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Florida in 2018. She left the beautiful state of Florida to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in 2022. Her plan was always to return to Florida to be close to family and friends again.
As a student, she completed her externships in a variety of clinical environments with a focus in disease, primary care, pediatrics, contact lens fittings and pre/post operative care. She spent 3 months serving veterans at the Montgomery VA Medical Center which has been one of the most rewarding parts of her optometric experience thus far. Although she enjoys every aspect of primary eye care, she especially enjoys fitting contact lenses and providing care for families and pediatric patients. She is excited to join Bradford County Eye Center to further her career and continue to learn every day.
Dr. Presnick is married to her high-school sweetheart, Kyle, and together they have a dog, Oliver, who they love spending time and exploring with. She is the youngest of four children and has eight nieces and nephews that she loves to spoil. Outside of spending time with family and friends, she and her husband enjoy cheering on the Florida Gators and spending time outdoors.
Leonard Schlofman O.D.
Dr. Len Schlofman has been serving the Bradford, Alachua, Union and Clay counties for over thirty years. He went to the University of Tennessee and Illinois College of Optometry before graduating in 1979. He then served in the Navy before coming to Starke and establishing The Bradford County Eye Center. He has been very involved in the community and was a school board member for six years. He also has worked with the Florida Department of Corrections for over thirty years.
Dr. Schlofman is a member of the American Optometric Association, Florida Optometric Association, past president of the Northeast Florida Optometric Society, past chairman of the Florida Board of Optometry, and past president of Kiwanis.
He has 2 sons, Michael, David and one daughter, Jill. His wife is Therese. In his spare time, Dr. Schlofman enjoys spending time with his family, boating, and watching Tennessee Volunteer football.
